Head of Brand & Marketing, Standard Chartered, India
I am a Brand Management professional with an active interest in consumer insights and market research. Over the past two decades of my career, I have had the good fortune of working for a couple of great organisations (Ogilvy and HSBC) and having joined Standard Chartered last year, the journey of contributing and learning continues. During these years, I have developed an intimate view of a varied set of customer profiles across FMCG and Banking, in terms of what they look for and how one can communicate effectively with them.
At Standard Chartered, I oversee the brand and marketing initiatives for the Bank and am tasked with developing an integrated brand strategy across the Standard Chartered franchise, anchored in the 'Here for Good' promise. Given my previous role as HSBC’s head of marketing, I find my previous decade of experience with a key competitor extremely useful.
One of the key deliverables in this new role is for me to spearhead the drive towards optimizing the Bank’s brand recognition across digital and mobile channels, enabling the bank to better cater to customers who are increasingly living online.
Upon joining Standard Chartered, I have been quite awe-struck by the commitment to contributing to society that I have seen around me, especially among the young colleagues who contribute with enthusiasm to the community initiatives despite being time-starved, and with young children at home. My team and I have enjoyed building homes for a set of villagers as part of a ‘Habitat for Humanity’ employee volunteering day and I can say with certainty that this was a very fulfilling day indeed.
