Madhu S Dutta joined in mid 2012 as Chief Marketing for Pantaloons Fashion and Retail Ltd a part of Aditya Birla Group. She has over 14 years of experience in Marketing and Advertising.

Prior to this assignment, Dutta was in the jewellery and lifestyle sector as Head of Marketing Development with World Gold Council where her mandate was to position gold as a fashionable metal. Other than handling various national and international projects, her biggest contribution has been the conceptualization of Awza : bridal jewellery inspired by 7 promises, reinterpreted to cater to the young contemporary Indian mindset. One of the most successful marketing initiatives by the World Gold Council in India.

Mid 2005 she stepped into Marketing with her movement to Tanishq – handled branding and communication, Consumer Researches, Strategic tie-ups and various collection launches in both diamond and gold category…and one of her key initiatives saw Tanishq for the first time on the ramps of Milan Fashion Week.

In the early 2003 she was with Ogilvy & Mather handling Vodafone…later was involved in winning the new business from ITC in branded Matchbox segent and subsequently handling the account independently…

Started her professional career in Lowe as Management Trainee…Spent 3 years in both their Kolkata and Delhi offices handling varied product categories like Cigarettes – ( ITC ), Hotels - ( Oberoi ), the launch of Branded Apparel – ( ITC’s Wills Lifestyle )…

A student of English Literature from Jadavpur University, Koltata she has specialised in Marketing from Clarion College of Communications. Her key interest areas span around Fashion & lifestyle trends, people, movies, photography, music, home décor, travelling and cooking…
